Window Treatments

Window treatments can be simple or complex.  Here are a few ideas:  Make a cornice board to fit the window and cover it with padding and material that matches your décor.  Use a dark gray fabric or a shiny gray fabric and make roman blinds.  Look for window rods with decorative space ships on the ends.   These suggestions can truly add the final touches to make your outer space room look fantasitc.

Accessories

To make the Outer Space room complete is to add accents or finishing touches.  One can add space knobs to pieces of furniture, use metal signs on shelves or on the wall, or use chalkboard paint and trim it out with a matching space border, find a space themed rug for at the end of the bed.  Another idea is to use a large metal trash can as end tables to give a more industrial look or build a model spaceship and suspend it from the ceiling.

Here are some decorating ideas that are sure to make the Space Room very unique.
  • Buy styrofoam plastic ball and paint them like the planets and suspend them from the ceiling.
  • Buy dryer vent and gray plastic pipes from a harware stroe and cut and hang them.  This will give the room the feeling of being in a space ship.
  • Use glow in the dark paint to either use on the Frieze Frame Mural so it will glow in the dark.  Or, use the paint to add fun accents around the room eg: paint the bookshelves.
