Wall Preparation
Murals and Accent Murals may be applied to any dry, clean, smooth surface. If there are any holes then fill the cracks with a spackling compound or plaster patching and sand to a smooth surface. Glossy or enamel finish walls should be lightly sanded, then washed with a common household detergent and then allowed to completely dry. Any greasy surface should be cleaned with a strong ammonia solution then allowed to completely dry.
For drywall preparation countersink all nail heads. Tape or repair all joints or holes using joint tape or a wall patch and joint compound and then let dry. Sand the wall to a smooth finish. Prime all new drywall with a wallpaper primer/sealer and follow primer instructions for the dry time.

Use a wall covering adhesive that is strippable, dries clear, and cleans up with water before it dries. Recommended brands include the following: Romans 880, Sure Grip Plus or equivalents. Also, look for an adhesive that is mold and mildew resistant if you intend to hang your wall covering in an area susceptible to mold/mildew (basements, bathrooms, humid locations). If you accidentally apply wall covering adhesive to the face of your wallpaper, remove it with a clean, wet sponge and then dry with a clean, lint-free towel.
Trim your custom mural with a clean, single edge razor blade or a sharp pair of scissors. Murals with multiple panels are printed with approximately 1 inch of bleed for overlapping and double-cutting the seam.
To double-cut the seam, overlap the panels to find the pattern match. Cut through both layers using a very sharp blade and peel the top strip back. Peel the bottom strip off the wall and adhere the top strip back in place on the wall for a perfectly fitted seam.
Option One: Pasting The Wall
Apply a thin coast of wall covering adhesive to the wall. Mist the back of the wall covering with warm water. "Book" the wall covering by folding it without creasing it, wet side to wet side (bring in both edges toward the middle), and allow it to relax for 5 minutes. Apply wall covering directly to pasted wall.
Option Two: Pasting the Mural
Using a 1/2" nap roller, apply paste to the back of the wall covering. "Book" the wall covering by folding it without creasing it, pasted side to pasted side (bring in both edges toward the middle). Loosely roll and put into a large plastic trash bag, along with a damp cloth, take care not to crease the folds. This maintains a humid environment to prevent the wallpaper from drying out. Allow to relax in the bag for 5 minutes.
Wall covering is very strong when wet; however we recommend that you do not apply a great deal of side-to-side pressure when applying the mural. We also recommend using a "smoothing" brush to remove air pockets or paste lumps. Work air pockets or paste outward toward the edges.
Cleaning Your Mural
Sponge clean your mural and use a lukewarm, mild detergent solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners containing chlorine bleach, solvents, or ammonia as they may damage the printed mural.
