Decorating A Jungle Room
Children of all ages love Jungle animals. If you child is fascinated with safari animals then create a fabulous Jungle bedroom or playroom filled with palm trees, bamboo, giraffes, elephants, zebras, lions, tigers, rhinos and much more. The Jungle theme is a classic and is great for playrooms because is can accommodate both girls and boys easily.
Walls
First, think of the Walls. If you are going to paint use a semi-gloss latex paint as this will be easier to clean from your little one’s hand marks. Most colors will work with the Jungle design, although a tan, sand or green and sky blue works best.
Murals
The Jungle Frieze Frame Mural is ideal because it can be customized to fit any room size or it can do one/two walls or an entire bedroom. Just paint 5 feet above the floor a sky blue color and below that some earth tone color. Use the mountain borders at the 5 feet line and use the foliage border at the 3 feet line. Then place the appliqués to create your own mural – you and your child can get to design their room. If your child is over 6 years old then they can actively be involved in the decorating process.
Jungle murals come in a variety of sizes and different images. There are safari murals, tropical rainforest murals and jungle animals being at the watering hole. These murals can come in poster size, chair rail size or a full wall size. Check out our full range of Jungle Murals!
Wall Stickers
Jungle wall stickers are ideal for baby rooms. Just apply to the walls, a piece of furniture or even glass. There are many different baby animals; lions, giraffes and zebras. They are peel and stick; repositionable and reusable which are great for any baby jungle room. In addition, we have accent murals in a Jungle Safari Jeep that are peel and stick.
Borders
If you need borders then there are wallpaper borders and coordinated Safari Jeep borders that can transform a room quickly. Borders can be used on the top of the wall, middle of the wall or three quarters up the wall. Here is one idea for a border use extra border to decorate boxes or play boxes or cut out the jungle animals and use them to decoupage old picture frame or piece of furniture.
Window Treatments
Window treatments can be simple or complex. Here are a few ideas: Make a cornice board to fit the window and cover it with padding and material that matches your décor. You can use a leopard or tiger fabric print and make curtains and valances. Another idea, it to use bamboo shades or use silk vines as a decorative accent piece along the sides of the windows. Also, look for window rods with decorative jungle animals on the ends.
Accessories
To make the Jungle/Safari room complete is to add accents or finishing touches. One can add jungle knobs to pieces of furniture, use jungle accessories eg: light switch covers, tumbler, waste basket etc, use jungle art work, or use chalkboard paint and trim it out with a matching jungle border, find a jungle print rug or jungle animal floor rugs.
One can use camoflage print, jungle animal print or soft voile fabric to make a reading area in the room by using a window treatment in the corner of the ceiling. Secure it to the ceiling then drape the fabric over it and use decorative tie backs to create a special reading area. Place books on small shelves or in baskets so they are accessible for a child. Use animal pillows or coordinating color bean bags to make it comfortable for your child to go in and read.
